Tiles & carpet...

lets continue the story from yesterday... its now flooring & wall time... I guess, out of all the colour selections, tiles are the most difficult items to choose, as they have different sizes, colours, patterns, variation, surfaces etc...

here I am again.. sharing some of our ideas before our colour selection... as this is our first time building, we need some of your expert advice... :)

Our proposed bath/laundry/ensuite tile n carpet
Floor tile = Vibe Cream
Wall tile = City beige gloss
Carpet = Cat 1 Ballad Range - Colour Chocolate

Which carpet matches the tile? Choc or Taupe
Floor tile = Vibe Cream
Wall tile = City beige gloss
Carpet = Cat 1 Ballad Range - Colour Taupe

Family, Entry, Meals, Kitchen tiles
Floor tile : Obelis Satin " But I heard from beaumont tiles that this colour might be discontinued :( "
Kitchen cabinet laminates ( from left, season oak, milky wood, oyster )
Which laminates best matches the floor tile? hmm...

Bath & ensuite with wall tiles & bath hob tiles

Floor tile = Vibe Cream
Wall tile = City beige gloss
Carpet = Cat 1 Ballad Range - Colour Choc
Bath hob & vanity tiles = Sector Glass Ivory
Strips = Enigma Grey mix

Bath & ensuite with wall tiles & bath hob tiles
Floor tile = Vibe Cream(left) , Hampton Putty(right)
Wall tile = City beige gloss
Carpet = Cat 1 Ballad Range - Colour Taupe

Bath hob & vanity tiles = Sector Glass Ivory
Strips = Enigma Grey mix
We quite like the Vibe Cream, but Hampton Putty looks quite good as well... Stuck in between...

After looking at the tiles here in Spectra, we decided to check out Beaumont tiles in Oakleigh...
 Main reception area...
Quiet impressive, lots of ideas from their display. They even have samples of matching floor, & wall, and strips to be use, etc....

Large tile selection area, with 2 shelfs of wall tiles, 2 shelfs of floor tiles and 2 shelfs of outdoor tiles...
Quite a good idea to visit their centre and get to check out wide range of tiles...
But the downside is, whenever you get too many choices, you get a headache, as you are not too sure which to choose from... Thats the nature of human beings... "spoilt for choices"

After we browse the centre, here are some of our choices of tiles for the kitchen....

Some of the sample strips which are quite affordable... but not quite sure how come Carlisle is charging from 250 onwards...
FYI, the silver tag tiles are considered as standard, gold = gold range, white = upgrade

Some of the strips that I found in Hoppers Crossing Beaumont tiles, but not in Oakleigh...

Wonder if we can actually use these strips... not sure if it matches...
there are more here.. lots of colours...

some sample display tiles at their display centre... sequenza white gloss with listello mondo as the strip..

Sector Gloss ivory with mos gla ice as the strips...

Vibe crema with mosaic spect milk choc as strips & gloss ivory at the top most...

City beige 200 X 400 tiles

some other flower-ful tiles...

 City beige gloss

 Hampton honey...

obelis sand gloss...

  1. Have you seen the pics of Debra50's Savannah? She was Hampton Putty and they are divine. If you've got a large stretch of floor to be tiled, solid colours without any mottled effect tend to show every little mark. Remember to throw in some contrast too so it doesn't all look to matchy matchy. Find your floor and feature tile and build from there!

    Have fun :)
